Issaquah Salmon Days Festival

Take part in fishy fun inspired by the annual salmon run at Issaquah’s Salmon Days Festival. Celebrate the salmon returning home with fish-inspired floats at the festival’s Grande Parade on Saturday morning. After the parade, mosey over to the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery (which turns 75 this year), where attendees can watch salmon swim upstream and spawn from an overlooking bridge or through viewing windows in the fish ladder. Wander through the arts and crafts booths along Sunset Way and Front Street to peruse marine-themed art (fish-skeleton wind chimes!), jewelry, glasswork and other creations, then sample savory entrées such as blackened salmon burgers or the Kiwanis Club’s famous salmon barbecue. Five stages will provide live music, ranging from bluegrass to ukulele to Scottish dancing, and kiddos will enjoy bouncy houses and craft activities in the Field of Fun. —JOE LIVARCHIK
