Laurie Anderson
Long before Auto-Tune, this experimental art rocker wowed audiences with vocal distortion devices, eventually hitting it big with “O Superman” in the ’80s. This Meany Hall visit brings us Dirtday!, Anderson’s exploration of politics, evolution, and history through song and stories. The innovator is popping up elsewhere in town this month, too, in the form of a Henry Art Gallery exhibit showcasing her visual artwork (10/18–11/18) and at UW’s Kane Hall, where she’ll talk about her career (10/19). O Superman? O Anderson!
