Mark Morris Dance Group

Often praised for its versatility, the Mark Morris Dance Group performs two very different pieces on this bill. Captivating and unexpected, the Seattle premiere of Festival Dance evokes gaiety with six couples cavorting to a piano trio by Johann Nepomuk Hummel. In contrast, Violet Cavern is all lines and curves—an amalgamation of music, dance, color and pattern—set to an original score by jazz trio The Bad Plus.
