Orpheus and Eurydice

18th-century Austrian composer Christoph Willibald Gluck is credited with sparking a revolution in French opera, thanks in part to his musical take on the classic Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. The Seattle Opera is bringing Gluck’s version to life for the second time in the company’s history—telling the gripping story of the hero who descends into the underworld to retrieve his true love.
