PNB: Modern Masterpieces

pacific northwest ballet

PNB presents a mixed bill that delivers several of modern ballet’s greatest hits. The solid program includes returning performances of “Concerto Barocco,” Balanchine’s breakthrough ballet—in which he ditched plot and character altogether—Ulysses Dove’s “Dancing on the Front Porch of Heaven,” featuring three couples in white unitards (vavoom), and Twyla Tharp’s ’80s extravaganza “In the Upper Room,” set to music by Philip Glass. Also, PNB’s own Paul Gibson presents the world premiere of his new work, “Mozart Pieces.”
