In this house, Dinah Washington’s voice is God, and viewers bear witness to a world of religious drag ritual, where survival is the only option. New York City playwright Jerome A. Parker and Seattle director Andrew Russell bring the stories of five black drag queens to life, setting them to Washington’s music.

Lisa Koch and Peggy Platt of Dos Fallopia fame present the Dweeb Girls of Camp Stillasqueemish, the Sequim Gay Men’s Chorus, the country duo The Spudds in Spudd Trek and gags that may not be appropriate for those younger than 14, though aimed straight at everybody’s bratty inner child. Koch and Platt (voted Seattle’s top comic nine times) have opened for Steve Martin, Jay Leno, Cyndi Lauper and Indigo Girls.

Tchaikovsky meets Def Leppard, Ozzy and Aerosmith, and Clairol turns jailbird in this much-demanded reboot of the irreverent parody of the classic by serious local choreographers Diana Cardiff, Sara Jinks, Jana Hill and Matt Mulkerin.

He’s worked with Mos Def, Q-Tip, Erykah Badu, Common, Snoop Dogg, Maxwell, Norah Jones, Jill Scott, Macy Gray, Brandy, Laura Mvula and Stevie Wonder. And he keeps himself on his artistic toes by working as a solo artist or with one of his two bands: The Robert Glasper Trio and The Robert Glasper Experiment, which let him “go anywhere, literally anywhere, we want to go.
