Fashion + Style Friday: Three locally-made accessories to jazz up summer style

There were a lot of jewelry pieces, handbags and shoes hanging around the office this week (check out the September issue to find out why!) and if you want to assemble a gaggle of girls lightning quick, just start throwing those things out on a table. The appeal of the accessory is simple: they can instantly change an outfit without putting a huge dent in your budget. Now that summer is upon us, here are three favorite accessories for the season—simply throw on jeans, a tank and one of these locally-made babies and you’re ready to go:

1. Daly Bird--Earrings

I believe I’ve worn these earrings almost every day this week, and fair warning, I probably will next week too. Ballard-based Tiffany Eley crafts her dramatic, super long earrings from recycled leather, adding hand-painted gold and fringe details. Find her ‘Sunny’ style on shopolivine.com (Psst: take advantage of the July super sale while you are there).

2. Joanna Morgan--Necklace

Pop into SPUN Sustainable Collective boutique and take a gander at the serious rocks displayed on the back table: Capitol Hillster Joanna Morgan’s new necklace line is flush with luxe materials including chunky quartz, green pearl and moonstone.

3. Ampersand as Apostrophe--Bag

Jessica Park of Coming Soon in Fremont is forever coming up with the new “it” bag, and she’s done it again with her Aztec parcel bag, which can be folded and carried as a clutch, or as a cross-body shoulder bag, perfect for toting around the Farmer’s Market.
