Food News: Where Sully is Now, Il Corvo’s New Home, More

A quick hit of food news you need to know this week:

Eater brings news that our favorite cheesemonger, Sully McGinnis, is no longer at Vessel and is now overseeing the light menu at Poco Wine Room. Which explains why the people at Vessel were suspiciously vague when I asked whether Sully was still on staff last week. Take a look at our interview with Sully here. The guy’s a talent and is geeky in the best way when it comes to cheese.

Il Corvo is open again! Now in its new home near Pioneer Square (at 217 James Street, look how pretty!), in the space that once housed the great-but-short-lived BuiltBurger. Easton and his team are now serving lunch five days a week as well as hosting Saturday night, family-style suppers by reservation only. He also promises take-home pasta and pasta-making classes once things get settled.

Top Chef alum Richard Blais is in town; I spotted him Wednesday morning suspiciously close to the Dry Soda offices. Coincidence?  Blais tweeted that he is, “Partnering with a Seattle based company! News to come soon ! Thanks for all the twitter love.

chef Matt Farrer, who’s battling colon cancer, looks outstanding: Six area chefs–Canlis chef Jason Franey and Willows Inn chef Blaine Wetzel among them–wil create one course each, and wine is included. Get all the detes here.
