Entry Category: Student Designer, studying at The Art Institute of Seattle

Designer: Megan Cherewatenko

Line: Megan Cherewatenko Designs

Branding statement/ Bio info:

This Spring 2011 line entitled “Garden Party” was definitely inspired by floral prints with fifties and seventies details subtly incorporated within the design silhouettes and color stories. This type of collection is designed for women between the ages of 25-40 who love color, conformability, and looking gorgeous at the same time. This collection is not meant for someone who wants to blend into a crowd. Some pieces would be worn to work and then dressed up for the night, and others are strictly going out pieces. They would also be marketed and sold for resort.

This line is different from others out there by the use of color and mixture of prints as well as overall silhouette. It would meet the needs of the market because it is fresh, young, and distinctive than anything that is already in stores. Aside from being trendy, it is also comfortable and durable. Quality construction and a good fit are important qualities for me to have in my clothes because I know women want to feel amazing so in turn, they look amazing. I believe a woman should feel gorgeous and confident in whatever she wears, because when a woman is confident, she’s unstoppable. That is what I want this line to come off as.

Price point:

Price points range between $149-$499 and would only be sold at boutiques to in order to keep the pieces exclusive and unique.
