These little mammals are also found in alpine meadows, around Paradise and Sunrise, but are harder to spot, because they spook easily. When they see you coming, they sound a high-pitched alarm and disappear. Since you may never see one, here’s a description: adorable, itty-bitty, mousey-type thing, huge ears, no tail.
