Designer Name: Christine Chaney

Branding Statement/ Bio Info:

LABEL

3C: christinechaneyclothing

Christine Chaney is a Seattle-based  award-winning artist and architectural designer. She has been producing designs for spaces and buildings, books and art since graduating from Ball State University’s College of Architecture in 1989.  In 2009 she brought her design experience to a personal level and created  3C: christinechaneyclothing.

BRAND

3C is not only focused on producing wearable art, but on creating a transformative experience for the wearer.  These pieces require a women’s body to activate their form. They are not static “second-skins”, but come alive and flow around the body. They are soft architecture for the body to joyfully inhabit. They are a timely sensual event as well as a timeless sustainable product.

HIGHDESIGN*lowwaste

By applying an architectural and artistic design sense to rectilinear materials - vintage scarves and table linens, surplus wool army blankets and yarn - Christine hand-crafts one-of-a-kind pieces through folding, draping, knotting and crocheting with little to no waste.

CUSTOMER:

“My ideal customer is an independent thinker and stylish individual. She cares about design while caring equally about the effect consumerism has on our environment. She is not bound by trends, but generates her own look. She has the ability to turn casual into creative by how she wears a piece.  3C is all about creating powerful, playful, comfortable garments with a conscience.  Clothing that is flatteringly stylish, super fun to wear and shows the world the sparkling inner spirit of the gal within them.   I intend to dress women from 17-70 as these 3C attributes are ageless.”

PRICING  $84-$320 recommended retail

VENDORS

Current: My work is sold at the Seattle Art Museum Store, Velouria in Ballard, Nube Green on Capitol Hill, Halo Salon in Downtown Seattle, as well as in self-produced trunk shows.

Desired: My intention is to have my wears at locally owned boutiques throughout the US that have the same sustainable and hand-crafted mission as 3C.
