Ever since Andy Johnson’s modern, made-in-Seattle Ample furniture collection debuted in 2010, we’ve coveted countless pieces. (Johnson operates Ample out of MakerHaus, a new creative collective in Fremont.) The Hip Pocket table is certainly no exception. This fetching yet functional side table features a solid walnut top with a cutout nook and an attached merino wool felt sling that’s designed for stashing magazines, books and more. The ideal spot on which to place your drink has been carefully considered, too—the narrow space next to the magazine nook is sized just right for a coaster, which of course, should not be optional. $795, available at Couch (Ballard, 5423 Ballard Ave.; 206.633.6108; couchseattle.com) or amplefurniture.com.
