Sara Seumae’s journey began in early 2007 shortly after the birth of her second daughter. While she and her family had already begun making “green” changes in their diets and daily life practices; it only seemed logical to take the next step in to their closets. Not prepared to make any concessions when it came to her personal style, Seumae started to research quality, fashionable organic clothing that would stay within her family’s budget. Unable to find what she was looking for, and with a little inspiration from her father, Seumae realized that only she could fill her “green” fashion need. SPUN clothing officially launched in February 2008 after nearly a year of researching organic cotton and the fashion industry. Seumae’s debut Spring/Summer 2008 collection of classic basics is comprised of six pieces that every woman needs in her closet. Designed as the building block for future SPUN clothing collections, Seumae’s first line proudly showcases her spin on the organic lifestyle and natural fashion.
With each fashion season, Seumae will strive to design quality organic clothing that answers her “Three F” questions. Does it fit? Is it flattering? Is it fashionable? Additionally, SPUN clothing is constructed proudly in Seattle from 100% Certified Organic Cotton, which is dyed through an environmentally safe, low-impact, fiber-reactive dyeing process.
