Glassybaby Seconds Sale
Get ready, Madrona, the Glassybaby Seconds Sale is Saturday, June 29. Door open at 8 a.m., but legions of devotees and addicts begin lining up between 3 and 4 a.m. (some, we hear, go as far as sleeping in their car to get a primo spot in line) at 3406 E Union Street for the best selection of the slightly imperfect, reduced-price glass votive holders and drinking vessels, lovingly made by-hand on site.
During the sale, the normally $44 Glassybabys go for $28, 10 percent of which will go towards the Kathi Goertzen Foundation to help end brain tumors and cancer.
Needless to say, this is a high stakes sale, so we asked the team at Glassybaby to share some tips for successful shopping:
1.Bring own reusable bags or containers for ease of transport.
2.Bring small flashlights to light the seconds and see how they glow.
3.Comfortable shoes help.
4.Have a plan. Pinpoint colors and hues to search for immediately when entering the door.
5.Bring cash, checks and credit cards. Unfortunately, no gift cards at the Seconds Sale.
6.Wear comfortable shoes.
7.For those who can't make it, take 10 percent off three or more full priced glassybaby online during the hours of the Seconds Sale by using code “secondssale2013”.
