MUST WATCH
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Saturday (3/2) — Didn’t get tickets to Emerald City Comicon before they sold out? Take heart, there’s plenty of fanboy spirit surfacing in Seattle this weekend. Case in point: In 1982 three plucky 12-year-olds began a shot-by-shot, stunt-by-stunt re-creation of Raiders of the Lost Ark. The homage took seven years to make and is chronicled in the new book Raiders! The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made. See the fan film at SIFF, where it’s running as a double feature with the original.
3/2. 7 p.m. Prices vary. SIFF Cinema Uptown, 511 Queen Anne Ave. N; 206.324.9996; siff.net

MUST EXPLORE
Spring Arts Festival at Inscape
Sunday (3/3) — If you haven’t yet explored the hive of arts studios at Inscape, Seattle’s former Immigration and Naturalization Services building, you have a treat in store. Inscape bIlls itself as the largest arts and culture enclave in Seattle, and the free Spring Arts Festival is a great opportunity to get to know the work of more than 100 resident artists, creating everything from visual art to theater. We especially recommend stopping by the studios of Seth Damm (maker of neon Zimm necklaces), Tracy Boyd and Kate Protage (painters), sculptor Julia Haack, fashion designer Tina Witherspoon, the Satori Group (theater company) and so many more.
3/3. 12 p.m.-6 p.m. Free. Inscape Arts, 815 Seattle Blvd. S; facebook.com/inscapearts

MUST TASTE
What’s New at Pike Place Market
Leslie Kelly was lured into Pike Place Market recently by the lovely sight of fresh tulips filling the flower stands—a favorite indicator that spring is almost here! To her delight, she also discovered new reasons to stay a while at the market (hint: most of them are food related).

MUST PUTT
Smash Putt!
Sunday (3/3) — “Welcome the rise of the miniature golf apocalypse!” So goes the tagline of this year’s Smash Putt, which can best be described as what happens when you let mad-scientist types with a clever sense of humor design an indoor putt-putt course featuring mechanized contraptions. [jump to blog] Take note: this course is not for kids (though, family friendly “matinees” are planned)! Drinking and pinch shots are encouraged. Reserve your time slots early (this Friday and Saturday night are already sold out) and practice your swing.
Weekends through 4/28. 21+ only, except at two planned family matinees. Times and prices vary. Reservations required. SoDo, 1950 1st Ave S; smashputt.com
