It’s subtle, but it’s there, that chilly shift in the air, a few leaves starting to fall and thank heavens, racks and rack of sweaters are filling the shops: It’s fall people! (Apologies to you summer bunnies, but this here editor loves her jackets and jeans).

And just in time for fall’s arrival, Fashion’s Night Out kicks off the fashion season next Thursday, September 8. The 3rd annual celebration of all things fashion has spread far and wide this year, with shops staying open late downtown, over at University Village and then on the Eastside at the Bellevue Collection and The Bravern.

I’m headed east for the impressive extravaganza happening at Neiman Marcus and The Bravern. This year, NM is pulling together two fashion shows (at 6:30 and 8:30, get there early, there was an astounding crowd there last year!), as well as the styling competition I mentioned last month. Other highlights around the center include: Anthropologie’s fall fashion preview (7:30 pm), Italian wine tasting at Piazza Sempione and an after-party at David Barton Gym (9-11). Complete details, deals and events available here.

The other reason why I’m stoked bt September’s arrival? Our annual fall shopping issue is on the newsstands! With over a 100 locally-made finds, from chic jewels to the perfect gift ideas, be sure to pour through the goods I obsessed over all summer and then go grab them today. Two of our featured favorites are even offering special deals at trunk shows in the next week, so mark the dates on the calendar:

September 1: Jewelry artist Sarah Loertscher (whom we call ‘the next big thing’ in our story) is debuting her new ‘F-Series’ fall line at Click! Design That Fits this weekend, including the folded steel earrings and brooch above. The show runs from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, so take a field trip and meet this talented lady.

September 10:  Seamless in Seattle winner Malia Peoples of Lady Konnyaku will be selling her wares next Saturday, September 10 from 5 – 8 p.m. at daring local fave Momo.

See you there—and out and about Thursday night!
