MUST HEAR
Damien Jurado
Friday (2/17) – Beloved local alt-folk crooner Damien Jurado releases his tenth album this month, Maraqopa, which marks a new beginning of sorts, with songs that sound more psychedelic than ever before. It’s just more proof that Jurado’s talent runs deep—and is well worth hearing live. The album is officially released Tuesday, February 21. You can order it online here.

2/17. 9 p.m. $15. The Neptune Theatre, 1303 NE 45th St.; 877.784.4849; stgpresents.org

MUST EXPERIENCE
Two Openings at the Frye
Opens Saturday (2/18–4/15) – Frye Art Museum is offering a doubleheader of exciting openings this weekend. Up-and-coming Seattle installation artist Susie J. Lee creates an immersive “storm room” and Taiwanese sculptor Li Chen presents gigantic Buddha-like ceramic figures that will crack and shift before your very eyes.

MUST SEE
American Film Week
Opens Friday (2/17-2/23) – The Northwest Film Forum is taking a manageable approach to excellent, underseen films, presenting one American-made feature per night this week. Choose from a music documentary about Andrew Bird, a sweet story of a single mom, an Israeli work of “dance fiction” and more.
8 p.m. Prices vary. Northwest Film Forum, 1515 12th Ave.; 206.829.7863; nwfilmforum.org

MUST TASTE
The Wurst Place
Don’t let the name fool you: The Wurst Place in South Lake Union may just be the best place for gourmet sausage—with about 25 kinds to choose from. Take a seat at the 21-foot-long wooden table to enjoy frites with dipping sauces, Belgian style and Pacific Northwest beers on tap and even vegetarian and gluten free “sausage” options.
