Hardly Art’s First Annual 10th Anniversary Extravaganza

(5/18-19) Sub Pop’s scruffier imprint label Hardly Art has been kicking out killer garage rock and all things lo-fi for the last decade. To celebrate turning the big 1-0, the label’s throwing a two-night party at Chop Suey with some of their top bands. Surfy, psych-laced quartet La Luz headlines Thursday’s all ages show, also featuring L.A.’s Colleen Green and local standouts Dude York. Tacocat emcees. The Jim Henson Exhibition: Imagination Unlimited

(5/19–1/1/2018) A great chance to see the work of celebrated producer, director, and puppeter Jim Henson’s and his Muppets alongside his non-Kermit-related work: Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, seen in sketches, storyboards, photos, video clips and more than 20 puppets. A Friday kickoff party features live music, cocktails and Q&As with performer Dave Goelz (Gonzo) and puppeteer Karen Prell. Times and prices vary. Apollo

(5/20) The Apollo 12 rocket’s F1 engine sat on the ocean floor for 43 years, until Jeff Bezos’ team recovered it and took it to Seattle’s Museum of Flight, where it’s displayed for the first time on earth in a new exhibit. Times and prices vary. University District StreetFair

(5/20–5/21) Founded in 1970 to soothe the University District after antiwar riots, the street fair is all about peace, love, food, tunes and shopping.
