Evening of Hope: Pillow Fight for The Market
Guests donned cozy pajamas and smoking jackets for the 13th annual Evening of Hope: Pillow Fight for The Market Foundation on February 6, and before retiring for the evening, raised $400,000. The Seattle Hotel Association transformed the Fairmont Olympic Hotel into a dreamy wonderland; guests enjoyed a bedtime fashion show and special presentation for the evening’s community service honorees, restaurateur Tom Douglas and his wife, Jackie Cross.
2010 Chefs Dinner for Bailey-Boushay House
On January 17, local area chefs prepared an exquisite, 7-course meal for more than 300 guests to benefit Bailey-Boushay House, a Virginia Mason nursing facility that cares for people living with HIV/AIDS. This year's Mad Hatter tea party-themed dinner, which also featured a silent wine auction, was the most successful dinner in the event's 18-year history, raising an astounding $304,000.
Hutch Holiday Gala
Fred Hutch's annual Hutch Holiday Gala on December 5 at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel brought in an astounding $8.8 million for the Center's cancer research programs during a glitzy evening that included a live auction, dancing and the "Diamond Dash" raffle (the big prize: bling!) sponsored by Alvin Goldfarb Jewelers. Prior to the event, the Bezos family also pledged a $10 million gift to benefit FHCRC.
Tiger Oak 2010 Sneak Preview
On Thursday, November 19, Seattle magazine and its sister publications opened the doors to our brand new office for a lively cocktail reception. Guests mingled and munched on appetizers provided by Pearl Restaurant & Bar and Cupcake Royale, while chatting with the editors and publishers about new features to debut in 2010.
Cha-Cha-Cha for Children's
Dancing shoes and cocktail dresses were mandatory attire at the upbeat Cha-Cha-Cha for Children's benefit on October 17th at the Overlake Golf and Country Club. Presented by the We Believe Guild, revelers enjoyed a night of hors d’oeuvres, wine, dinner, a small live auction and, of course, dancing- all proceeds went to benefit uncompensated care at Children's Hospital.
