On Monday, July 18, an auction at the Leschi BluWater will be held to support one of Seattle's longtime restaurant industry pros who was recently diagnosed with advanced breast cancer.
Thirty-eight year old Kristal Lana began working in Seattle restaurants at Palomino in the mid-nineties at age 20. She went on to run the Leschi BluWater Bistro, and two years ago helped Brian Hutmacher open Toulouse Petit as a front-of-the-house manager.
Kristal's many industry friends have provided auction items such as five nights at a Napili Bay (Hawaii) condo; 10 training sessions and 10 massages at Energy Fitness and Wellness; a Stephen Gilbert studio photo shoot with hair and makeup (his clients include Nordstrom and Lululemon); and a stylista package with handbag and accessories from stylist Alvin Stillwell (Vanity Fair, Barneys etc.).
Whether you know Kristal or have been touched by cancer and would like to help her with her expenses, Monday's event is a nice opportunity to make a difference in one person's personal struggle. The suggested donation is $25, and worry not: there will be plenty of booze and food, too.
