It’s a fantastic weekend for sips and fun! First up, this Saturday, June 14, I’m hosting an art and cocktail party from 4 to 7 p.m. at the wonderful Zinc Art + Interiors in Edmonds (102 3rd Ave South) and you’re invited. I’ll be serving samples of two drinks from my book Ginger Bliss and the Violet Fizz: the award-winning Persephone’s Elixiar and the classic Lucien Gaudin. And I’m making the latter with the great Alpinist gin from the fine folks at the Seattle Distilling Company. I’ll also have two homemade liqueurs (Always Bet on Blackberries and the mysterious Lebaoku) from Luscious Liqueurs for you to try and there will be a few tasty treats from Party Snacks. All three of my books will be on sale and ready to be signed alongside some of the finest art and interior products in the region. It’s also the weekend of the Edmonds Art Festival, so come up and make a day of it.
On Sunday, June 15, take dad out to Vashon Island for a Father’s Day spirits, wine and music. The celebration is happening at the Seattle Distilling Company (those guy are swell), from noon to 3 p.m. (19429 Vashon Highway SW). Expect a delicious selection of spirits and liqueurs from the distillery, as well as wine samples from Andrew Will Winery, snow cones for kids, La Biondo wood-fired pizza and live music from bands including Danny Newcomb and The Sugarmakers, Rusty Willoughby and Poultry in Motion. All proceeds go to benefit the Vashon Island Pet Protectors.
It may well be the best weekend of summer.
