Ongoing (1/1–1/27) — The Seattle Shakespeare Company’s take on Ibsen’s classic play, A Doll’s House, stars local actors Jennifer Sue Johnson as Nora, that beacon of early feminism, and Michael Patten as Torvald, her patronizing husband. Ibsen’s many-layered symbol of the “doll” retains its relevance to contemporary discussions of women’s roles, particularly vis a vis marriage.

Elvis Alive with Vince Mira
Opens Thursday (1/3–1/5) — You might remember Vince Mira from the spot-on Johnny Cash impressions he performed as a teenage busker at Pike Place Market. After taking his Man in Black show across the country, Mira has moved on to emulating another famous rocker, Elvis. He’ll perform his uncanny impersonation with a live band, movie montages and dance numbers (orchestrated by local Can Can Productions). Come hear just how much he sounds like The King—and if you’re moved to scream, who’s to judge?
