The runner-up on my list of Fall’s Most Exciting Restaurant Openings (second only to the craziness that will surely accompany the opening of Shanik on December 3rd), Mamnoon is opening in a converted warehouse across from the Melrose Market. And that opening is happening…today, November 20th!

The folks behind Mamnoon just announced the opening on their until-now-silent Facebook page (the website is still under construction).

The food will be Middle Eastern, with a focus on Lebanon and Syria specifically. There’s a takeout window and the restaurant will serve lunch and dinner. The chef is Garrett Melkonian, a Tom Douglas alumnus (he was Tom’s Executive Pastry Chef) who also worked at Cafe Juanita, Spring Hill and, most recently, on pastry at the Inn at Langley. It’ll be particularly interesting to see what Melkonian does with the pastry program at Mamnoon, since that’s his background.

Owners are Wassef and Racha Haroun, former Microsoftees. It’s their first restaurant. And no, we don’t have a menu quite yet, but I’ll update this post when one’s posted.

Reservations here.
