Swedish Brand Fjällräven Opens Seattle Store

The iconic Kånken backpack, $75

Swedish heritage brand, Fjällräven, is opening their first West Coast store in downtown Seattle Thursday, December 19. Located at 1113 First Avenue, next to Jack Straw and A Mano, Fjällräven has been known for their colorful and high-quality outdoor gear and accessories since it launched in 1960.

A keen eye to European street style blogs will recognize the brand’s iconic Kånken backpack, which was originally designed for Swedish school children in 1978. It comes in a wide range of great colors and its distinctive boxy shape and durability means it’s not only practical, but an effortless style statement. The rest of the brand’s offerings, clothing and jackets for men, women and children, are ideal for the region, ranging from faux fur-lined parkas to pants made for roughing it.
