As the editorial director for Seattle magazine and Seattle Business magazine, Rob Smith enjoys getting paid to be nosy and talking with interesting people. “A good story comes from anywhere,” he says. “I’m always open to hearing pitches and brainstorming ideas.” When he’s not hunting for stories about the people, places and things that make the Seattle area a unique and compelling place, he spends time watching his 13-year-old son play competitive baseball and basketball, shooting hoops, sipping Northwest microbrews, and hanging out with friends.
