Face it. You’re going to blink and summer – those 90-degree days you had the audacity to complain about – will be a distant memory cloaked in gray clouds. Don’t you want to munch under the glorious sun while you still can? Luckily, we’re here to tell you where to sup during the second weekend in August.

First up, a north Seattle tradition for 65 years: Salmonfest Seattle takes place Aug. 7, 8 and 9 in Lake City (Lake City Community Center, 12531 28th Ave NE). At its heart is the epic salmon bake (dinner, $10; single piece of salmon, $6), which takes place all three days. Last year, they served 2,500 dinners and we have no doubt returning executive chef Michael White (Warwick Hotel Seattle, Nines Bar & Grill) will top those numbers with perfectly tender salmon from Loki Fish Co., which loves the heck out of their gillnet-caught salmon. We hope to score the same delectable Asian-style slaw as last year.

Next, go visit that friend who lives in West Seattle because they’re getting a Mioposto. Debuting this weekend is the third outpost of Jeremy Hardy’s pizzeria (2141 S. California Ave SW). The menu will be the same as the existing locations in Bryant and Mount Baker – yes, applewood-burning oven baked breakfast pizzas as well as the spring lamb and build-your-own Pie Curious  – and will start with happy hour at exactly 4 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 8.

Lastly, if you work in the industry or just plan to be hungover and call Monday your weekend, head to Bothell for the first day of business at John Howie’s much-anticipated Beardslee Public House (19116 Beardslee Boulevard). Chef Jed Laprade (Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar) is at the helm of the 10,000-square-foot pub and brewery, where charcuterie will have its own kitchen and flat-top burgers, pizza, homemade pretzels and pork jerky will all share the spotlight. Drop us a line about the beer selection. We hear there will be 12 rotating brews on tap.

You’re welcome. Happy almost weekend.
