Great news, croissant lovers. Petit Pierre Bakery is open in Magnolia. If you’re like us and can smell a quality baked goods a mile away, you’ve already sniffed out their to-die-for pastries in the space previously housing Finn’s Bakery & Cafe.

The boulangerie, owned by recent Paris transplants Laure and Alex Le Benoist, is named after the couple’s 7-year-old son, Pierre. According to Magnolia Voice, the family was San Francisco-bound but competition and the cost of living in the Bay sent them farther north. We’re thrilled they’ve settled in Seattle and opened close enough to Magnusson Park for tartlet runs.

Also expect chocolate and almond croissants, seasonal macarons, choux chic — a traditional Parisian custard cream puff — and different flavors of madeleine cookies with pistachios, almond or hazelnut. Laure is a master baker, having learned the trade in her family’s pastry business in the north of France. Bread will come via Tall Grass Bakery and coffee from good old Stumptown.
