Dreaming of Hawaii this January? Bring its flavors home with this fresh starter from Ethan Stowell’s Chippy’s Fish & Drink. A year-old outpost in the Stowell empire, Chippy’s serves “classic fish & chips alongside a bevy of old-school seaside specialties” in Ballard next door to Stowell’s Staple and Fancy.

This popular tuna app takes just minutes to toss together at home, but if you prefer to sample the pro version first, find it on Chippy’s menu, or even better, at Seattle mag’s Pop! Bubbles and Seafood event on Saturday, February 21, which serves as a kickoff soiree to the 7th annual Seattle Wine and Food Experience on February 22. The Pop! tasting party will feature a range of Pacific Northwest underwater favorites from Chippy’s, Shiro’s, Westward, Taylor Shellfish and more, not to mention bubbly beverages galore. Tickets to Pop! are $65 and can be purchased here.
