The creative spark: Take Betty Draper and mix her with a dash of Jackie O circa 1970, and you get a visual of Seeley’s effortless, classic aesthetic. “I get a lot of inspiration from history and historic fashions. My grandmother entrusted me with her vintage patterns… and I reworked them to be more current and not so 1950s housewife.”

The collection: The part-time vocational rehabilitation counselor likes to play with volume, as seen in her big winner, a swing coat with exaggerated ruffle collar and waist cinch belt. The 28 year-old also likes to utilize feathers, furs and layered taffeta for dramatic yet ultrafeminine, looks. “I want to bring back pride in femininity. ‘Casual’ is so overused in Seattle.”

First garment ever created: “I practiced sewing pillow cases and sleeping bags for my Barbies when I was 7 with my grandma. The first garment that I designed that I was proud of was my prom dress from my sophomore year in high school. It turned out really well.”
