Seattle's HopPlotter, the Yelp for beer fans

Free iPhone app features millions of breweries around the world
| Updated: November 27, 2018

New breweries are opening almost daily, and Seattle’s Alex Cartmell, Ann Layman, and Lauren Cartmell are hoping their new startup, HopPlotter, will help you keep track of your favorites while discovering new breweries.

The trio founded HopPlotter as a way to learn about and locate breweries both close to home and abroad. Like Winery Passport for wineries, the free iPhone app, which launched at the end of January, has a database that includes millions of breweries around the world. An Android version is in the works, and the website is also mobile-friendly.

How does it work? The main interface is a map that indicates where breweries are and if they are currently open or closed. If you want to know what the brewery offers, just click on it and up pops top-rated beers, Yelp ratings, and what we consider the most important information: if they serve food and whether you can bring the kiddos along. Create an itinerary, share it with a friend, even add your favorite beer stop if you don’t see it on the map.

Happy hopping.
