Battle Tactics for Your Sexist Workplace
On iTunes, KUOW-FM and at kuow.org
“We all exist in sexist workplaces because we live in a sexist world,” proclaim Jeannie Yandel and Eula Scott Bynoe, hosts of KUOW’s thought-provoking Battle Tactics for Your Sexist Workplace. In each episode and with the help of invited guests, they explore how to observe and discuss sexism in the workplace, and work toward changing it. (Even if you work from home!) Expect to listen in on some complex convos, like their June 26 episode: “Want a Raise? First Call Your Cable Company.”

Shelf Life scrolls through the history of Seattle’s Central District (CD) with episodes that cover community stories—from the idealism of busing for desegregation to the CD’s roots with the Black Panthers—in a way you might hear them on the front porch of your neighbor’s house. The stories, told by locals, are produced by three University of Washington alumni: filmmaker Jill Freidberg, Rainy Dawg Radio storyteller Mayowa Aina and data analyst Domonique Meeks, all with the help of funding by King County 4Culture.
