Moisture Festival
(Through 4/7) Seattle’s festival of weird celebrates its 16th year in Seattle. Thrilling crowds with its audacious circus and burlesque acts for four weeks in the spring, Moisture Festival claims to be the world’s largest comedy/varieté celebration. Dancers, comedians, jugglers and even AcroBritt, the world record holder in acrobatic archery, will all dazzle you with their performance. Times and prices vary. Mariners Opening Day
(3/28) Mark your calendars, because its baseball season again! (3/29–3/30) Every artist claims to draw from diverse influences, but even so, few are as widely disparate as those of Pittsburg born choreographer Kyle Abraham, whose inspirations include baroque opera and street dance, Merce Cunningham and N.W.A. The MacArthur “genius” grant recipient brings his NYC-based troupe A.I.M (Abraham in Motion) to the Moore for a two-night stand of his solo and ensemble works. 8 p.m. Prices vary. VegFest
(3/30–3/31) Nosh on more than 500 vegetarian food samples and learn more about the plant-based diet at Vegetarians of Washington’s annual VegFest. Check out cooking demos from chefs, along with vegetarian cookbooks for sale so you can test out your skills at home. There will be health screenings and presentations from doctors, discussing how a vegetarian diet can positively affect your health. 10 a.m–6 p.m. Adults $12, Children Free. Run to End Homelessness
(3/30) Resolution to End Homelessness, a new Seattle nonprofit, is holding its first 5k run/walk to support local organizations working with people who are experiencing homelessness. The race route takes participants around Seward Park with its stunning vistas of Mount Rainer and Lake Washington.
