Bi-Monthly Rooftop Dinner Series Coming to Bastille

Upon moving to Seattle last fall, I experienced a solid month of awestruck disbelief over not only the mountains (I’m from the mountain-less Rust Belt), but also the incredible food. I spent my days eating and staring into vistas, not entirely believing that the mountains were real or that they were here to stay. If I wasn’t ceaselessly asking friends, “Have you seen the mountains today?” I was chirping about a local restaurant that I had just tried. Now, my obsession with mountain views and local food may have reached new heights with the discovery of a rooftop dinner series at Bastille Café and Bar.

With summer fast approaching, the Ballard Avenue nosh spot, whose happy hour we regularly tout as one of the best in the city, hopes to bring a fresh perspective to al fresco dining. Beginning Monday, June 10, Bastille is introducing a bi-monthly dinner series on its newly opened rooftop dining area. Dinner series patrons will enjoy a multi-course feast on a communal table featuring produce sourced from Bastille’s on-site garden while they take in stunning views of the Olympic Mountains. Radishes, mushrooms, and a variety of lettuces grown on Bastille’s rooftop play a prominent role in these carefully curated dishes, such as a roasted cauliflower chateaubriand with pepper cress sauce vert, preserved lemon and pistachio. At the dinner, Chef Jason Stoneburner and/or chef de cusine, Cody Farrell, will be on hand to offer up some culinary words and wisdom about each dish.

Your $95 ticket includes dinner, wine, a rooftop cocktail and a garden tour led by Colin McCrate and Brad Halm of Seattle Urban Farm Company. The dinner series is limited to 12 guests and runs on Mondays throughout the summer. Dates are selling out quickly, so hurry here to buy your tickets.
