Dakota Gearhart

Photomedia and installation artist Gearhart is one of the most important visual artists to emerge in Seattle during the past several years. Taking such undistinguished matter as wood, Tyvek, Mylar and yams, she integrates them with video feeds and audio tracks to create work that expresses a poignant sense of emotional and environmental vulnerability. During October’s First Thursday Gallery Walk, she will present a new work produced as part of the Artist in Residence Program sponsored by Recology CleanScapes, one of the largest operators of material recovery and organics processing facilities in the western United States.

October 6 - 31; 6-8 p.m.
