Seattle Cookie Counter
This new Greenwood shop started as a vegan ice cream truck, but it turns out they bake great vegan pies, too. Order the “surprise pie” if you don’t care what you end up with and save a few bucks.

Volunteer Park Café
What’s that? You need a lunch tomorrow? Swing by and get the excellent BLT (plus a cookie, duh) and order your pies while you’re at it.

Rachel Coyle can do no wrong when it comes to butter and sugar. Her Greenwood shop’s Thanksgiving special order menu doesn’t stop at pies—order a bake-at-home version of her excellent cream scones, cranberry sauce, or parker house rolls.
Pies: Winter luxury pumpkin pie ($32), pecan pie with bourbon and dark chocolate ($35), apple galette ($28).

A La Mode
There may be no better pieman in town than Chris Porter; pick up your pies from the original Phinney location or the new West Seattle café.

Grand Central Bakery
The prices change slightly depending on location, so you’ll want to call your nearest bakery to ask about prices. Don’t miss the U-Bake pies, which you may be able to pass off as homemade.

Have a dinner guest with a whole lot of dietary restrictions? This spinoff from Thrive follows the same principles—expect the pies here to be gluten-free, raw, vegan, low-glycemic, and mostly organic.
Pies: Pumpkin eclipse with coconut whipped cream ($59.99).

Speaking of vegan, Makini Howell is the resident expert—her pies are as good as her mac ‘n’ yease.

Columbia City Bakery
There are cakes and breads and even some great seasoned stuffing mix, but the pies at this south Seattle staple are a necessity.
