Pro Tips: How to Attend the Seattle Wine and Food Experience
This weekend is our annual wine and food event. Are you ready?

Tonight’s the night! Seattle Food and Wine Experience (SWFE) kicks off with its first event, Comfort, and our office is buzzing with excitement and dreams of the perfect pairing of Sweet Iron Waffles and Brownrigg Hard Cider.
But before we set off on this decadent adventure, we thought a few do’s and don’ts are in order to make sure you get the most of the experience:
DO show up early! According to SWFE veterans, it gets pretty crowded by around 7:30 p.m., so if you don’t want to wait in long lines, get there right when doors open. Doors open at 6 p.m. for both Comfort and Pop! and at 2 p.m. for Saturday’s Grand Tasting.
DO bring your ID. This is a 21 and over experience and you wouldn’t want to be sent back home because you forgot your ID.
DO use the hashtag #SWFE when posting pictures of your delicious treats and drinks on social media. We want to see what you’re loving at the events. Plus, it will make all your friends hungry and jealous.
DO wear something comfortable, casual (and maybe stretchy). There will be a lot of food — you don’t want to feel stuffed in your tight pencil skirt and stilettos.
DO make a game plan for the Grand Tasting. It’s the biggest event of the weekend, with ten foodie trends to celebrate the ten years of the event. You will get a brochure with a map inside, so plan out the spots you want to hit first instead of aimlessly wandering around.
DON’T drive there. There will be plenty of beer, cider and wine flowing on all three days of the event so if you want to enjoy yourself without having to worry about transportation, use Uber or Lyft or take the bus. Plus, Seattle is not known for ample parking, so why waste time trying to find a spot?
DON’T forget to drink water as you enjoy all the alcoholic beverages (such as the Bloody Mary bar). We want to make sure everyone enjoys the experience responsibly. Check out our wine tasting tips here.
