It’s Raining Cats and Dogs

“Dogs outnumber children in this city,” reads a wall label in this exhibit, “and cats outnumber dogs.” So, it makes sense that the Museum of History & Industry would gather photos and memorabilia from its collection to trace the connection between Seattleites and their pets. Items in this heartwarming exhibit range from a spaniel-shaped porcelain doorstop circa 1860 to a pink pussy hat from the post-inauguration protest march a year ago—and, in recognition of the city’s most prominent canine symbol, a Huskies T-shirt.
