King of the Yees

San Francisco playwright Lauren Yee has said that this play is a loosely autobiographical tale of her relationship with her father (so it’s no coincidence the play’s protagonist shares her name). It centers around Yee’s layers of family history in San Francisco’s Chinatown, and the world she encounters when her father goes missing. Originally commissioned by Chicago’s Goodman Theater, it stars 2017 ACT Core Company member Khanh Doan.
