Upscale department store Neiman Marcus is closing its Bellevue store.

The company said in a filing that it is rejecting leases in several locations across the country. The Dallas-based retailer, which was founded in 1907, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month.

The Bellevue store is located at 11111 N.E. Eighth St. at The Bravern in downtown Bellevue. The 125,000-square-foot store opened in 2009. At the time, then-Bellevue Mayor Grant S. Degginger called the opening “a dream come true for Bellevue.” The store is Neiman Marcus’ only location in the Pacific Northwest.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the store has been open only for curbside pickup and appointments.
